Don't They Have Anything Better To Do?

And these are the same lawmakers who scream "Nanny state" when Universal Health Care is proposed.
We actually had an employee drive in her boyfriends truck with these attached. Security contacted her and told her that it was offending other employees in the parking lot and asked her if she drove his truck in again to remove them. Imagine your employer telling you that!
Wow, that must have been an extremely awkward experience for that employee.

It's pretty sad that legislative officials would have time to deal with something as arbitrary as this. People are way too sensitive.
Those fucking balls are really popular in Southern California. Even guys with a small car had them, which was just laughable. I once saw a really big black van with two huge metal balls, obviously bigger and obnoxiously cooler than the other balls, and I bet he was pretty proud of himself.
That's just bollocks that is!
ahahahaha! oh i laughed so hard when i read this post, Libertine. i had an art history class last year (or was it two years ago...) were we spent the entire class discussing these truck balls/nuts/whatever. we held the view that they're a nationalist symbol for the united states and that by displaying "your" nuts on trucks (and apparently other vehicles too) it's an attempt at patriotism, albeit an odd one. I'll have to think on it some more to remember the full class. what do you think? is it really as simple as men trying to 'compensate'?
I guess i'll have the only dissenting opinion. Would you have the same opinion if it were an actual man running around with his balls hanging out in public? What if small children were around? To me its much the same, in an adult world we can laugh at it but we are not just in an adult world and no parent should be put in the position of explaining to their young children why someone has a set of balls hanging on their vehicle or depending on the age and sex of the child exactly what they are in the first place.

Sure we could lean on the whole freedom to express yourself but then it puts us on a slippery slope. Did you know there is a political party called the NVD in Amsterdam that actually promotes pedophilia? Should we allow the expression of that in public? Or how about nudity, Im all for a persons right to be a nudist but that doesnt mean i want them expressing themselves in public. There has to be a line that cant be crossed or it turns into an anything goes society.
Nah, I don't think this quite qualifies with advertising pedophilia. Nor do I think that every issue can be solved by throwing laws at them. Nor do I think that the entire world needs to be cushioned with bubble wrap because children are around -- it's like banning steak because babies can't chew them. And I'm sure that parents could give a creative explanation to what these things are if a kid happens to ask -- tell them that they're two baseballs is a bag or something and make up a story to go with it, and that they're kind of silly.
Your right it doesnt qualify as pedophilia but its part of the slope I mentioned earlier. It would be nice if everyone realized the difference between adult gag items and outright indecency but they dont or wont so even though it seems trivial we have to draw lines or as i already said it allows an anything goes attitude and i think all of us realize that anything goes can go way to far.

Also i wouldnt say a parent not wanting their little girl to see a pair of male nuts hanging around is wrapping them in bubble wrap. Its more like allowing them to grow up and discover things on their own without having it shoved in their faces.

Yes we can lie to our children but we shouldnt have to. Why should we be forced into a situation of lying to our kids just because some person thinks its funny or cool to strap nuts on his/her truck or car, its not as if a pair of nuts means anything. First its a set of fake nuts, next its a pocket p......
[this is good]
Oh, it's in poor taste to be sure, but I just don't think poor taste needs to have laws thrown at it. We have too many laws as it is, and there are too many real problems in the world to tackle than to have legislators wasting taxpayer money a nd time in this way.
Give it a few months until the novelty's worn off, and those trucks will return to their former gelded state, without being forced to by legislation. Be prepared for a return to high pitched engine noise though...
I think there are already laws on the book that covers that sort of thing under public indecency laws but people interpret that to mean whatever they personally feel is indecent in public.

Several years ago you just saw them here and there and it wasnt a big deal but now days i see them more often and have even seen dildos on trailer hitches. Unfortunately its not just a fad that will go away if anything it seems to be getting worse, more so in some areas then others.

So what would be your suggestion? i would agree we have enough laws and over legislating is just as bad as under legislating but what else can be done?
Probably nothing, but just let the idiocy run its course. Like all fads, it eventually will. I've never actually seen one in real life myself, however.
Perhaps your right but i can understand why it is a concern to some people. The ones i see mostly are on trucks driven by either a teen boy or a young adult male.
